Our story
The club started in 2010 because a group of local business people wanted something different from the networking groups they'd tried. Somewhere relaxed and fun, but still focused enough to be worth getting up early for.
There's no pressure to pass referrals. As people get to know each other, trust builds, friendships form and the recommendations follow on their own. Curious how we compare? Here's our honest guide to business networking in Exeter.
What makes it different
There's one accountant, one solicitor, one electrician. Nobody's competing for the same clients, and everyone gets the full benefit of the room.
No targets, no league tables, no awkward silences when you've got nothing to pass. Work comes from trust, and that takes a few breakfasts.
Every member runs a business, so we share what we know: guest speakers, member talks and "expert in the spotlight" sessions, where the room quizzes one member on their specialist subject.
On Fridays without a speaker, members share a business challenge and the room helps solve it. Running a business can be lonely, and it helps to have a table full of people who've been there.
Why people join
Arrive from 7:15am for a hot drink or juice and a chat. The meeting starts at 7:30 and you're away by 9.
The more people know you, the more your name comes up. Your profile grows across the local business community without you having to push it.
Need a solicitor, a photographer or an electrician? Use someone in the room, or someone they'd recommend.
A relaxed atmosphere where people look out for each other, whether it's a tricky client, a hiring headache or a VAT question.
The Christmas do, the charity quiz and the odd away day, for a bit more fun and a few more connections.
Between guest speakers, visiting guests and members from all sorts of trades, there's usually someone new to meet.
How the club is run
A small committee of members keeps things ticking over, we back a local charity each year, and there are a few simple rules so everyone knows where they stand.
You can come as a guest up to three times before deciding. Your first two visits are free, and your third is £15 with breakfast included.
