The short version
- Browse, book a visit and get in touch as much as you like. It's free.
- Please don't use members' details for spam or marketing lists.
- A listing shows a business is a member. It isn't a guarantee of their work.
- Members: keep your sign-in link to yourself and your profile up to date.
1About these terms
This website is run by Exeter Business Club, a non-profit, member-run business networking club that meets every Friday at the ISCA Centre, Summer Lane, Exeter EX4 8NT. By using the site you agree to these terms.
How we look after personal information is covered in our privacy policy and cookie policy. How the club itself works, including membership, is set out in the club rules. If these terms and the club rules ever disagree about membership, the club rules win.
2Using the website
You're welcome to browse the site, read about members, book a visit and get in touch. Please don't:
- copy members' contact details into mailing or marketing lists, or use them to send unsolicited messages
- send spam, false information or anything offensive through our forms
- try to get into parts of the site you haven't been given access to, or test it for weaknesses without our permission
- scrape the site with automated tools, or do anything that could slow it down or damage it
- use the site for anything unlawful
If you find a security problem, please tell us at committee@exeterbusinessclub.co.uk rather than using it.
3Bookings and forms
Booking a visit is a request, not a guaranteed place. We'll confirm by email. The club has one member per profession, so if your profession is already taken, we'll explain what that means before you come along.
Applying to join doesn't make you a member. Members are given the chance to raise any concerns, and the committee confirms the result. Membership, fees and how to leave are covered by the club rules and the joining and costs page.
Please make sure what you send us is accurate and that you're entitled to share it.
4Member listings
The member directory lists businesses that belong to the club. Each member writes and supplies their own profile, including their description, contact details, logo, photos and any testimonials.
Being listed means a business is a member of the club. It isn't a recommendation or guarantee by the club of that business's work, qualifications or prices. If you deal with a member, your agreement is with that business, not with the club, so please make your own checks as you would with any supplier.
5For members
Your profile
When you add or update your profile, you confirm that the content is accurate, that you have the right to use any logos, photos and testimonials you upload, and that it doesn't break anyone else's rights or the law. You give the club permission to show it on this website, and in the club's own listings and promotion, for as long as you're a member. We may tidy wording or images to fit the site, and we can remove anything that isn't suitable.
The members' area
You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. Please don't forward these links or share access, and tell the committee straight away if you think someone else has used your account. The members' area is for running the club: please treat what you see there, such as minutes, other members' event bookings and applications, as private to the club.
If you raise a concern about someone applying to join, please be fair and honest. Concerns are seen only by the committee.
If you leave the club, your access to the members' area ends and your profile comes off the website.
6Keeping things accurate
We try to keep the website up to date, including meeting dates and times, costs and who's on the committee, but details can change. If something matters to you, check with us first. If you spot anything wrong, please let us know.
We aim to keep the site running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or pause parts of it at any time.
7Links to other websites
The site links to members' websites and other sites we think are useful, such as maps and social media. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.
8Copyright, logos and badges
The text, design and club logo on this site belong to Exeter Business Club. Members' logos, photos and descriptions belong to those members. You're welcome to share links to any page, but please don't copy content for commercial use without asking first.
Current members are welcome to use the club's member badges on their own website and materials, linked to their profile, while they're a member. Please don't change the badge design, and remove it if you leave the club.
9Our liability
The website is provided free of charge, by volunteers, to help people find out about the club and to help run it. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for any loss that comes from using the site or relying on what it says, or from dealings between visitors and members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10Changes and law
We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
